HCL Permanent is looking for experienced Emergency Medicine Doctors to join a large Acute NHS Trust in the West Midlands.
This is a fixed term post for a period of 12 months.
Interested candidates must have completed a minimum of two years full-time or equivalent post-graduate training, with a minimum of six months previous experience in Emergency Medicine practice.
In addition candidates must be eligible for full GMC registration with a Licence to Practise by the time of appointment. ALS certification is essential (by the start of the post or willing to re-certify within 4 months).
The Directorate has three MCEM examiners and runs an MCEM clinical course that is recognised by the College of Emergency Medicine. The Trust offers intensive support to help the Doctors prepare for the clinical part of the MCEM and could offer a secondment for up to 3 months per year in another specialty following successful completion of MCEM exam for those studying for the FCEM, allowing individuals to gain any necessary competencies to progress further in their chosen career.
These posts give the opportunity for experience at middle grade level. A supportive environment is provided and there is weekly middle grade teaching at both departments. Successful candidates will be part of a team which will provide a 24/7 middle grade support for the Emergency Departments.
The Successful candidate will work as part of a 9 person middle grade team based at each of the departments and provide guidance and support to the junior grades and ENPs and telephone advice to Emergency Nurse Practitioners based at the neighbouring Minor Injury Units. The candidates are supported directly by 9 Emergency Medicine Consultants across both sites.
