Hours Required: 8 hours Mon, Wed and Fri and 9.5 hours Tues and Thurs
The Locum CMP will work as part of a four person Medical Officer team providing primary and continuing care to a practice population of approximately 2200 Serviceman. The normal working day is geared to a 42-hour week including meal times. The CMP will take part in the Duty Medical Officer rota, providing out of hour’s cover (08:00 – 18:30) and aviation medicine and airfield cover as required (08:00 – 08:00) on a 1:4 basis.
The Locum CMP is to assist in the provision of, immediate aircraft crash/rescue response during normal opening hours and aviation advice outside normal working hours. They would also be expected to assist in the provision of first aid cover during normal working hours to Service personnel; MOD employed civilians and others in accordance with Health and Safety at Work legislation and respond in case of a major medical incident on or near the base
The Locum CMP will be expected to provide the following primary care services:
Full PHC including; surgeries for Serviceman and women, shared antenatal care and community led antenatal care, minor casualty procedures and minor surgery within their abilities, on-site pharmacy dispensing, occupational health care, periodic and targeted occupational health medical examinations, immunisations, travel advice , preparation for deployment, health promotion, well woman/man services.
Attend management, clinical, palliative, welfare, child protection, patient safety incident report, and clinical governance meetings.
Maintain the accepted minimal Service and General Practice Educational Committee criteria in medical documentation
Carry out investigation and attempt to control of an outbreak of infection.
Ensure health and safety of staff, patients and other visitors to the medical facility.
The practice provides training placements for RAF Medics. The Locum CMP maybe required to assist with the continuation training of medical centre staff.
