General Practitioner GP Job Exmouth

a. To carry out medical examinations including

PULHHEEMS and Underwater medicine, diagnoses, prescribe, treat    and recommend disposal of patients.  To admit and monitor patients on       the ward.

b.Working hours to be 0800 to 1630 weekdays. To be duty     Medical Officer (working a minimum of one in 4 duties periods including           weekends in     accordance with the Medical Officer Duty roster). This may include assistance with leave cover.

c.To inform the Principal Medical Officer of cases in their practice,        particularly of:

i.)         Deaths, very serious or serious illness or injury.

ii.)        Attempted suicide, self-inflicted injury and concealment of                                 disease.

iii.)        Notifiable disease.

iv.)       Patients recommended for reassessment of PULHHEEMS                                category, or requiring executive action on their case management.

v.)        Unnatural offences and misuse of drugs or alcohol.

vi.)       Pregnancy or suspected pregnancy.

vii.)       Any case that is likely to be contentious eg NFA Med.

d.         To write notes of cases for inclusion with individual medical       records and prepare summaries of cases referred for consultation, treatment and medical board disposal.

e.To render reports called for by the Principal Medical Officer.

f.To complete insurance medical reports when required.

g.To assist in the administrative work I.E. Clinical Governance, Audits etc. of the Medical Centre as required by the PMO.

h.To assist with teaching.

i.To attend MO Prescribing course.

j.To be adequately trained in, and adhere to the Caldicott guidelines on Confidentiality.
