Executive and Managerial Care Jobs
Care management jobs are typically for people who have gained sufficient industry experience and qualifications in their field. There are many types of care manager positions and each will be unique with varying levels of responsibility. This will depend largely on the setting and employer which you should consider when looking for work.
When entering the management team as a deputy you will begin to learn the business end of the care industry. You will either have, or be working towards, an NVQ3 in care with some experience of people management. Responsibilities will begin to include compliance, reporting, budgets, marketing. Plus greater levels of responsibility with staffing matters including training, supervisions and disciplinary actions when required.
The types of care jobs a manager can apply for will depend upon your experience gained, the requirements of the role, and generally the completion of relevant qualifications to become a registered manager with the CQC. This could be an NVQ4 or RMA/LMC. There are also many equivalent awards which qualify – including diplomas in social work.
